Telangana chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, on Wednesday said his government would extend all facilities for ensuring that the state retained its numero uno position in the country in the poultry sector.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the three-day Poultry India 2014 exhibition, Rao said his government had extended agriculture status to the poultry industry making Telangana as the most suitable place for investments in the sector.
Stating that he would not be able to make any police announcement as the Assembly was in session, the chief minister assured that he would resolve all their problems 'within an hour" if the representatives of the poultry industry met him later.
Pointing out that some poultry traders were learnt to be lobbying for import of chicken legs from the US, he urged the Centre not to allow such imports, which were detrimental to the interests of domestic poultry industry.
