Congress legislators from Telangana region are redrawing strategies in the wake of a serious difference of opinion on locking horns with the high command over the issue of tendering resignations before January 28.
Having been caught in a fix with the party high command issuing a serious warning directing them to immediately withdraw their resignations and not to precipitate the situation, these leaders are sitting down to redraw their strategies and find a way out of situation, party sources said.
Already there are fissures in the Congress on the resignations issue with a section of its Telangana leaders denouncing the move while the other standing firm on it.
But, with they too playing a key role in the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee, the Congress MLAs and MLCs in particular are unable to go back on their resignations. At the same time, they are also in no mood to completely antagonise the party high command by remaining defiant on the issue.
Senior MLA K Jana Reddy spoke about this predicament at the JAC meeting itself two days ago and revealed for the first time that they were indeed trying to break away from the party "if need be."
