In a bid to speed up the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation's (NHPC) 1,000-Mw Kotli Bhel Hydel project, the Uttarakhand government has decided to simplify the clause that makes the land acquisition process cumbersome.

		</script> </DIV><p class='TableClas'>A notification to this effect has already been issued by the state government that relates to two villages, Kotla and Pargana Bharsaun in Pauri district, where the NHPC is acquiring land for the second phase of the project. 
</p><p class='TableClas'>An investment of over Rs 5,000-8,000 crore is proposed in the project, which will be built on the river Ganga in three phases
