The textbook sellers across the state downed their shutters recently in protest against the decision of the Board of Secondary Education, Orissa, to remove two optional subjects from the Class IX and X syllabus.
With the removal of the optional subjects, the booksellers fear to make huge losses as they have already procured the text books of these subjects. The Orissa Booksellers and Publishers’ Association had appealed to the BSE authorities to take back the redundant books and to supply other books with the same price.
