The Ludhiana Income Tax Department, in collaboration with the United Cycle Parts Manufacturers Association, has started a three-month camp to reach out to more people who are unable to pay tax due to the tedious procedures involved.

The United Cycle Parts Manufacturers Association has allowed he camp to come up on its premises.

Income Tax Commissioner RK Roy thanked the United Cycle Parts Manufacturers Association for providing help in setting up the centre on its premises.

Roy told Business Standard the idea behind the setting up of centres for the general public came from the finance minister, who launched this programme last year.

"The main purpose of setting up such help centres is to establish a neutral platform with the help of non- government organisations," he said.

United Cycle Parts Manufacturers Association President GL Pahwa promised complete support to the department.
