Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to lay the foundation stone for the Hyderabad campus of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) on October 19.
A delegation from Mumbai-based TIFR including its director Mustansir Barma called on chief minister K Rosaiah on Thursday.
Barma explained about the various research and academic facilities that were proposed to be set up on the Hyderabad campus with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore.
The AP government had invited TIFR to the state to set up its second campus in the state and allotted 209 acre land adjoining the University of Hyderabad at Gachibowli in the city.
Principal secretary to chief minister B Sam Bob and APInvest chief executive officer Pratap Madireddy attended the meeting, according to a press release.
