The rescue operations to trace the three employees missing after the flooding of a gallery at Tata Steel's Jamadoba Collieries (6 & 7 pits) continued  in full swing yesterday.

Efforts at de-watering the mine gallery under the constant supervision of officials of the DGMS and the company has been made. The water level has receded to '18th level', the probable location of the accident in themine, Tata Steel said in a statement.

In addition to 2 big pumps already in service for the last two days, one Roto pump has been added to take care of the muck and water of the seam. A 1000 metre pipe and one pump with electricals has been obtained from BCCL which will be put to service as per need.

There is accumulation of muck along with water which is difficult to clear, thus constant cleaning of muck near the point of water suction is also being done.

Though a time consuming pro.... clearing of the muck and debris have been taken up behind the arca which has already been dressed down. Without doing this it is impossible to access the area of the incident.

Muck removal has been taken up at the most probable site. The rescue operation has already been started again at 5.00 p.m. The teams working in the confined space have not yet been able to locate the missing persons. But efforts will continue as the gellary becomes more accessible.
