Allaying West Bengal's concern, Union Rural Development minister Jairam Ramesh has written a letter to the state government saying there would be no discrimination against the state due to the Congress-TMC break up.

In his letter addressed to the state panchayat and rural development minister Subrata Mukherjee, his Bengal counterpart, Ramesh has assured, the recent political development will have no bearing on releasing funds for state projects on part of his ministry.

However, in the letter, Ramesh also expressed his displeasure about TMC leadership's “uncalled-for criticism” of the Centre.

Incidentally, West Bengal government recently alleged that Union Urban Development ministry was going slow on releasing fund for the state's drinking water projects.

Earlier, Railway Minister C P Joshi had also said that no railway projects in West Bengal would be affected following the change of guard in Rail Bhawan.
