TN aims at 80,00,000 tonnes of foodgrain in FY'09

At the inauguration of Manavari (Rain dependent) Agriculture Research Institute here, he said the state was able to make rapid strides in foodgrain production from 52.10 lakh metric tonne in 2005-06 because the research institutes provided best seeds, best equipment and technologies.      

Since the Tamilnadu Agriculture University was formed 408 variety of hybrid seed varieties had been developed, 118 new farm equipments had been invented,and 42 new technologies had been released, he said.
