The Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned four major flyover projects in Chennai, including an elevated highway connecting Raja Muthiah road and Pulla Avenue road junctions along EVR Periyar Salai at a total cost of Rs 465 crore.
In a government order issued on Tuesday, the state highways department gave sanction for appointing a consultant for preparing detailed project reports (DPR) for constructing the elevated highway on EVR Periyar Salai and three flyovers at Pallavaram market-Kundrathur road junction on GST road, Velacherry-Vijaya Nagar junction and Rettai Eri junction on inner ring road.
The proposed elevated highway project is expected to cost Rs 300 crore, while flyovers on GST Road and Velachery would cost Rs 65 crore and Rs 50 crore respectively. The flyover on IRR road would be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 crore.
