Close to 10,000 acres in Tamil Nadu are expected to come under Bt cotton cultivation in 2003-04. This would represent a 10-fold increase in the area under Bt cotton cultivation.
The expected increase in usage of Bt cotton in Tamil Nadu comes in the wake of its success in fighting the American, pink and spotted bollworms.
