The growth rate of the Indian tourism industry is expected to decline by about two-third from an estimated 15 per cent in the current fiscal, said industry body Assocham. “During 2008-09, the country’s tourism sector growth is likely to dip by a minimum of 10 per cent and stay around 5 per cent,” Assocham said.
The tourism sector was expecting a growth rate of around 15 per cent for the current fiscal, but it will now be about 5 per cent, it said.
