The Tata Power Company (TPC) today sought a Rs 80-85 crore hike in annual payment from BSES. BSES at present pays Rs 713 crore annually to TPC.

However, the tariff rationalisation proposal (TRP) of TPC, which was submitted to the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) today, has not sought any tariff hikes from other consumers.

In addition, TPC has taken issue with the proposal for a tariff hike of 5.8 per cent submitted by BSES to the MERC for ratification, saying that the growth projections relied upon by BSES was in contrast to the actual growth registered in the first five months of the current fiscal year (2003-2004).
