The decision of the Punjab government to make Form C filling up mandatory, carrying details of inter-state sales with the return of every quarter, has caused harassment for traders.

Several traders' organisations of the city today threatened to launch agitation on November 14, if the former did not take back its decision.

"Practically it is almost impossible to fill up the C-form with the return of every quarter. Due to complex processes in the sales tax office, a trader has to face difficulties. Moreover, earlier it was never made mandatory in any other state and implementing it only in Punjab will adversely affect the inter-state business of the traders," Ravinder Dheer, president of the BJP Beopar and Udyog Cell of the city, told reporters.

If the decision was not taken back at the earliest, after holding a protest march on November 14, then the agitation would intensify further in the future, Dheer said.
