The Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh ( APTransco) has taken up a series of information technology (IT) initiatives aimed at better control and accountability in energy transmission, distribution and improved customer service.
Divided into customer satisfaction measures, information transparency measures and efficiency improvement measures, these IT initiatives will be fully operational in the next few months and is expected to cost around Rs 75 crore for Transco and distribution companies (Discoms).
As part of its initiatives, APTransco is working on a Customer Management System (CMS), which will computerise all aspects of the customer-facing operations of the Discoms that include metering billing, collection, customer relationship management.
