Seven tribal students trained at the J N Tata Technical Education Centre (JNTTEC)-Gopalpur have a rare opportunity to pursue international career.

These students, who were enrolled in the two-year Certificate programme in Multi-skill (Technical) for Scheduled Tribe candidates at JNTTEC, were jointly sponsored by the Orissa Scheduled Caste /Scheduled Tribe Development Finance Cooperative Corporation, Employment Mission, Orissa government and Tata Steel.

While the candidates and Employment Mission made a token payment of Rs 10,000 each, the remaining major portion of their training expenses were borne by Tata Steel.

The selected candidates would serve for Ashok Leyland and would be based at Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. They are entitled for a monthly salary of 1000 Dirhams (UAE) which comes to about Rs 13,000, apart from free food and accommodation facilities.

Tata Steel has set up the J N Tata Technical Education Centre at Gopalpur at an investment of more than Rs 28 crore over an area of 20 acres having a built up space of more than 50,000 square feet.
