Vansiya is the minister of state for revenue and Joshiara the minister of state for tribal welfare in the ministry. Mehat told reporters here that the decisionto sack them was taken by him due to their doubtful activities.

The Chief Minister said that he met the state governor, Krishnapal Singh, to enquire about his health. The political situation and the split in the Bhartiya Janata Party in the state also came up for discussion , Mehta said. He said he also mentioned to the governor that the verification of the signatures of the MLAs in the lists submitted to him was totally a business of the speaker. He said I feel the governor should hand over the lists given by the dissent camp and of mlas supporting him to the speaker.

Mehta said the governor had agreed that under the Constitution it was the responsibility of the speaker of the assembly to verify the signatures of the MLAs mentioned in the memoranda and not of the governor. The Chief Minister said yesterday some 20 MLAs met the governor on their own and told him that their names appear in the list of 46 dissident MLAs without their approval.

Mr mehta also pointed out that while the rival camp has submitted a list of 46 mlas to the governor, a resoultion adopted by them at a meeting to form a separate party was signed only by 38 mlas. That means the meeting did not have one-third strength of mlas, he said.

That has created doubt about forged signatures, the chief minister claimed.

He also pointed out that the minutes of the meeting heldby the dissidents itself mentioned that only 38 mlas were present. This amounts to disqualification. This could be looked into by the constitutional authorities, mr mehta said.
