Under the new norms enacted by the government, the height of buildings in Dehra Dun cannot exceed 21 metres. And due to this, the construction of the cyber tower, which is being developed under a joint venture between the State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Ltd (SIDCUL) and Delhi-based IDEB company, was being hampered as its height was 30 metre originally.

On the request of the joint venture company, the government gave its nod to raise the height to 30 metres and also 10 percent increase in the ground cover.

The foundation stone for the IT Park was laid by the then Chief Minister N D Tiwari 2 years ago. Besides, the cyber tower, there will be 12 more buildings which will be built in the IT Park.

The floor spaces in the park, with modern facilities like heath club, food courts, power back-up, serviced apartments and connectivity, would be leased out to IT and BPO companies.

"The IT Park is envisioned as integrated and self-contained development to match similar projects elsewhere with the best in the class features and amenities," IT official said.

The IT park will have a total area of 68 acres, a software technology park of India (STPI), incubation centre with a built up area of about 100,000 sq feet and independent plots which will have an approximate built up area of 3 million sq feet.

M/S Feedback Ventures was initially appointed as the Project Manager to the Park whose term has now expired.

The park is expected to be completed in one year time with Morphogenesis Architecture Studio, New Delhi, being chosen as the architects of the cyber tower.
