Two British nationals of Pakistani origin were among seven people arrested in Pakistan prior to the discovery of a plot to bomb airliners, government and security officials said today. One of the suspects was arrested in the southern city of Karachi and the other in the eastern city of Lahore, both last week, a senior government official told AFP. "Both the men were British nationals of Pakistani origin and were key members of the Britain-based network of militants," the official said on condition of anonymity. Pakistani security agencies also arrested a network of five local militants in connection with the London plotters, a security official said, without giving further details. |
