Unesco team to inspect Taj Mahal

A two-member Unesco team will visit Taj Mahal next month to assess the impact of the controversial Taj Corridor project on the monument.
The team, which is arriving here on January 10, will spend four days inspecting the Taj and the impact of the now shelved project on the World Heritage Site, Unesco Chief of Administration (culture) Prithviraj Perera today said.
Accompanied by Archaeological Survey of India officials, the team would also inspect the Hampi monuments in Karnataka, he said adding that the team would look into various aspects of both the monuments.
