With a view to augment the pace of development through media participation, UNICEF in collaboration with Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal, organised a two-day media orientation workshop here.
It is second in a series of UNICEF-IIMC workshops negotiated to be held between 2008 and 2010. The workshop focused on themes like poverty, hunger and livelihood issues. Inaugurating the workshop yesterday, Baidanath Mishra, agricultural scientist and former deputy chairman, state planning commission, said, the state government’s Rs 2 per kg rice scheme has jeopardised farmers’ movement.
