New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met President A P J Abdul Kalam today, and discussed the security situation in the country.

During the 30-minute meeting, Singh is understood to have apprised Kalam about the steps being taken by the government in view of the deadly terror attacks on Tuesday that claimed lives of over 200 people and injured over 700 people.

"They discussed the security situation in the country," a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said.

The government has alerted all states to increase vigilance in the aftermath of the blasts as intelligence inputs suggest that there may be more terror strikes.
