Uttar Pradesh Industrial & Infrastructure Investment Policy 2012, which was announced by the state government on September 4 last year, still lacks some teeth.
Individual departments were also supposed to confabulate under the broader policy framework and subsequently issue Governor Order (GO) to make the Policy function in all its bearing.
However, there are some departments, which are yet to issue the necessary GO although all such GOs should have been issued within weeks of the announcement of the Policy.

A delegation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) chamber Indian Industries Association (IIA) today met Yadav and apprised him of the non-implementation of certain announced aspects of the broader Policy.
UP is home to maximum MSME units numbering 3.3 million out of total 26 million MSMEs in India. Over 40 million people in UP are directly supported by the MSME sector, which plays the second most important role after agriculture in the social and economical development of the state.
Meanwhile, IIA president Jugal Kishore proposed that IIA would organise a MSME Conclave in Lucknow to highlight the problems of the sector, finding solutions and informing them about the government promotional schemes/policies. The CM has accepted the invitation to be the chief guest at the proposed event.
The Association further submitted suggestions for strengthening the Udyog Bandhu, the state government’s industry interface. These proposals are likely to be put before the state cabinet for approval.
IIA said it would encourage its members to work towards the industrial development in Bundelkhand region.
