Despite running successfully for several years now, the Uttar Pradesh government's Udyog Bandhu program is still facing trouble in maintaining the Single Window system it had conceptualised to facilitate the industrialists of the state.

To clear the hurdles in bringing the approval, no-objection, Clearances etc. on one desk, the Udyog Bandhu is now developing an online software that shall link all the District Industrial Centers in the state through a virtual Intranet based on the internet.

When implemented fully, the software would also provide the industrialists with all the information regarding the status of their projects submitted for approval with the government at the click of a button.

According to Narendra Bhushan, Executive Director, Udyog Bandhu, the first version of the software shall be launched formally by February this year enabling the industrialists to download all the requisite forms from the website and fill these forms online though initially, it shall be mandatory for them to submit a printed copy of the form at the District Industrial Center (DIC) and these information shall be uploaded by the respective DICs and the General Manager of the DIC shall evaluate this information every 15 days.

In case of DICs the district magistrate of that district shall also be responsible to evaluate this information.

He said that there was a provision in the software that when a project is approved, it shall be indicated on the homepage of the respective project and weekly reports of the functioning of the DICs in various districts shall be also prepared automatically by the software.

According to Bhushan, the DIC at Moradabad was already filing its reports through email but for the remaining DICs, the General Managers had been asked to appoint a nodal officer who shall be in-charge of the DIC's internet based operations and some employees shall also be trained to operate the software that shall also serve as an Intranet for the organization.

Already, he said, the website of the Udyog Bandhu organization has been made functional and all relevant information regarding the Industries and Industrial development in the state was available for download on the website.
