The BJP today charged that the UPA government had lost the faith of the people by not convening an monsoon session of Parliament and was afraid to face the House.

"That the government has actually lost the fath of the people can be proved by the fact that it has not yet convened the monsoon session of Parliamet. Generally, every year the monsoon session is convened in the third week of July. This has probably happened for the first time", BJP President Rajnath Singh said in his inaugural address to the party's three-day national executive that opened here.

"In my opinion, the government does not have the courage to face Parliament. How can an unnatural governemnt, after saving itself in an unnatural manner, muster the courage to face Parliament"? he said in an apparent manner to the trust vote victory by the UPA government after withdrawal of support by Left parties.

Singh said the monsoon session should have been called to discuss various issues such as terrorism, price rise, situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
