The United States today assured India that it would fulfill all the commitments with regard to the civil nuclear deal, made in the July 18, 2005 and March 2, 2006 joint statements.

Rice said in a statement that "the United States intends to fulfill all of the commitments it made to India in the July 18 and March 2 Joint Statements."

Rice said the Bill, which goes to the US President's desk for his signature, explicitly authorizes civil nuclear cooperation with India in a manner fully consistent with the US-India Joint Statements of July 18, 2005 and March 2, 2006.
