US county for trade with India, especially Haryana

A county in the United States has expressed interest in taking steps to promote bilateral trade with India, especially Haryana, in various fields, including agriculture, education and chemicals.
 
Prince George's county Economic Development Corporation Vice-President Patricia E Hayes Parker told a Press conference here the county, which is the second-largest and richest of 23 counties in the US, would promote Indian companies coming to Maryland and would encourage their local companies to come to India, especially Haryana.
 
Maryland Agriculture University and Haryana Agriculture University at Hissar in Haryana have signed a memorandum of understanding for joint research in various fields, including animal genetics, agricultural production and biogenetic research, Parker said.
 
India Maryland Research round table, after interacting with Gurgaon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, found Haryana the most suitable investment destination.
 
Asked to compare India and China, Parker said, "We find greater transparency in India, there is greater stability and banking is easy as compared to China."
 
The county would also look for growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Prince George and Haryana, Parker said.
 
The two sides are looking at promoting business and trade in auto parts, agro food, textile, bio-informatics and agro biotechnology, Gurgaon Chamber of Commerce and Industry President PK Jain told reporters.
 
Currently, Indian exports to Maryland comprise garments, upholstery, handloom, medicine, chemical and engineering goods and imports include chemicals and hi-tech computers.
