The US Federal Reserve has hinted that it might be nearing the end of its long, interest rate rising cycle with some members of the policy setting Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) starting to warn against overkill. According to a report on the website of Financial Times, the Fed has, since June 2004, raised rates at each of its meetings, and the gradual tightening of monetary policy has become as regular as clockwork.
