US indices slump; ADRs slide

The US stocks tumbled on Tuesday on the back of increasing concerns over sub-prime lending and a couple of weak earnings. The Dow Jones industrial average slumped 226 points to 13,717. The Nasdaq plunged 51 points to 2640.

Indian ADRs ended in a sea of red. Patni Computers plunged 4.8% to $25.53, ICICI Bank and MTNL slumped 4.2% each to $48.23 and $7.50, respectively. Tata Motors shed 3.7% to $18.22, and Infosys dropped 3% to $52.06. Satyam, Wipro, HDFC Bank and VSNL were down nearly 2% each.
