US markets end up; ADRs shine

The US markets rallied on Tuesday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average index surged 121 points to 14,165. The Nasdaq gained 17 points at 2804.

Indian ADRs ended with smart gains. Sterlite, Patni Computers, ICICI Bank and VSNL soared over 4% each to $19.80, $25.38, $54.87 and $24.55, respectively. Infosys, Satyam, Wipro, HDFC Bank, MTNL Tata Motors and Dr.Reddy's also ended with significant gains. Genpact, however, was down nearly 4% at $15.80.
