US NRIs express solidarity over protest against reservation

A group of US-based NRIs met the Consul General of India, Prabhat Kumar Singh, in San Francisco, and handed over a petition against the proposed 27% reservation for OBCs in higher educational institutions in India.

Prabhat Kumar assured the delegates that the petition would be sent to the President of India.

The delegation was led by Raghavendran Nagarajan who works with Cisco in California. Nagarajan said the petition was signed by 18,000 NRIs, including OBCs and SC/STs, from all walks of life.

Other members of the delegation included Chandru Bhambra, a realtor and community leader and IT professionals like Balaji Venkatraman, Anand Madhavan and Sundar Vedaraman.
