US traders keen to invest in Haryana

A US senator from Maryland has expressed the desire of entrepreneurs from his state to invest in the agriculture, food processing and education sectors of Haryana.
 
Speaking at the inaugural function of the Gurgaon chapter of Global Fortune Maryland-India Economic Development in Gurgaon today, Senator John A. Zenati Jr urged Haryana businessmen to also invest in Maryland.
 
In his address, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said there were tremendous possibilities for mutual cooperation in information technology, bio-technology and nano-technology between Maryland and Haryana.
 
He said there were many similarities between the two states, which provided a favourable atmosphere for entrepreneurs and students.
 
Hooda said there were many institutes of higher education, especially in bio-technology and information technology in Maryland, and students and research scholars of Haryana could avail the benefit of studying there.
 
"The hard working farmers of Haryana were keen to usher in a second green revolution with the help of bio-technology and modern agricultural practices. A world-class education city named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was being set up in Haryana," he said.
