A US senator from Maryland has expressed the desire of entrepreneurs from his state to invest in the agriculture, food processing and education sectors of Haryana. |
Speaking at the inaugural function of the Gurgaon chapter of Global Fortune Maryland-India Economic Development in Gurgaon today, Senator John A. Zenati Jr urged Haryana businessmen to also invest in Maryland. |
In his address, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said there were tremendous possibilities for mutual cooperation in information technology, bio-technology and nano-technology between Maryland and Haryana. |
He said there were many similarities between the two states, which provided a favourable atmosphere for entrepreneurs and students. |
Hooda said there were many institutes of higher education, especially in bio-technology and information technology in Maryland, and students and research scholars of Haryana could avail the benefit of studying there. |
"The hard working farmers of Haryana were keen to usher in a second green revolution with the help of bio-technology and modern agricultural practices. A world-class education city named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was being set up in Haryana," he said. |
