The Uttarakhand LPG federation, an association of cooking gas dealers, on Wednesday began an indefinite strike demanding immediate arrest of those who vandalised a dealer’s office here.

Supply of gas cylinders to consumers was stopped on Wednesday following the incident yesterday, in which a group of people barged into the office of Uttaranchal Gas Agency and vandalised furniture and damaged vital papers.
Chief minister Vijay Bahuguna is unable to fulfill his announcement of providing three additional subsidised cylinders. “We cannot do much due to the acute shortage of supply,” said a leader from the ruling Congress party.
