Uttaranchal to invest Rs 88 crore in tourism

 Uttaranchal tourism minister TPS Rawat said a Rs 58 crore scheme to improve infrastructure in these places had been prepared and the state tourism department had sought Rs 30 crore assistance from the 12th Finance Commission.

 The Khirsu-Lansdowne and the Pithoragarh-Munsiyari circuits were prominent among the new destinations being focused upon, the minister said.

 For the development of the Pithoragarh-Munsiyari and the Pauri-Khirsu circuit Rs 65.84 crore had been sought.He said a scheme to built airstrips in these areas was being worked out.
