Vajpayee calls UP leaders over factional feuds

 The project costing Rs 26.55 crore has been entrusted to the National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) for development of scientific aspect for understanding the natural processes for formation of gas hydrate.

 Using the state-of-art facilities, NGRI will carry out investigations for demarcating and quantifying gas hydrates in the continental margins of India, according to a press release here.  The gas hydrates, with enormous potential of methane gas, is emerging as an alternative viable energy resource, and the NGRI in collaboration with the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) has successfully completed many projects for processing and interpretation of seismic and other geophysical data sets for gas hydrate exploration, it added.
