VCs, FIIs to explore investment avenues in UP

The delegation would include marquee names like Franklin Templeton, Premji Invest, IVF among others

A 20-member delegation of venture capitalists and foreign institutional investors (FIIs) is arriving here tomorrow to explore the possibilities of their participation in infrastructure and industrial development projects in Uttar Pradesh.

The delegation would include marquee names viz. Capital Global, SBI MF, Franklin Templeton, Premji Invest, IVF, Morgan Stanley Investment Management, India Capital, Invesco, UBP, Ex CLSA, Ambit Capital etc.

They are scheduled to call upon senior government officials and major industry players.

Besides, the delegation would meet officials of big companies having presence in UP, such as Samsung, Moser Baer, LG, PTC etc to assess investor sentiment and scope of investment.
 

“The arrival of angel investors is a sign of improving industrial scenario in UP along with enormous investment opportunities,” UP infrastructure and industrial development principal secretary Surya Pratap Singh said here.

He said the venture capitalists were coming “to gauge the avenues” of their participation by funding existing industrial units as well as upcoming projects under Eastern & Western Dedicated Freight Corridors and other projects proposed under public-private partnership (PPP).
