Union minister of state for finance M P Veerendrakumar yesterday criticised CBI director Joginder Singh for going to the press about its intention to prosecute Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam, saying this was not keeping with the time-honoured tradition of the investigating agency.
The proper procedure for the prime investigating agency would be to submit the chargesheet to the courts to evolve its own course of action, the minister said. at a meet-the-press programme at the press club here.
Answering a question, the minister said there was no two opinion about the purity in public office one held and if there was any slightest doubt about one s integrity, he should be prepared to quit.
