Premier of Australia's Victoria provience, John Brumby said victoria was one of the attractive destinations for trade and business investment and opportunities and invited Indian companies to invest and expand their global operations in Victoria.
During an interaction with members of the Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprise (ABLE) and Nasscom, he said, "Our government's focus on innovation, biotechnology and Information and Communications technology means that Victoria's two-way relationship with high tech Indian can only grow."
"Forging strong links with Indian-high tech business delivers jobs and opportunities for Victorians in the global hi-tech economy", he said.
Brumby who is in the city for two days is scheduled meet Chairman of Wipro, Azim Premji, and with board members of Infosys, which recently announced an expansion of operations in Melbourne.
Brumby today met N S Narendra Chairman and MD of Firepro Systems to discuss the company's continued growth in Victoria.
Brumby said his meeting with leading technology firms were part of the governemnt's strategy to engage with India's leading technology firms.
The Victorian Premier would meet Indian business representatives over the next two days here to discuss investment and trade opportunities with Victoria, facilitating the expansion of their global operations of these companies.
