Jharkhand vigilance bureau raided nine premises of the suspended Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) chairman Dilip Prasad and current and former members and the controller of examinations after charges of corruption surfaced against them. The former JPSC chairman Dilip Kumar Prasad and former members Gopal Prasad Singh, Radha Govind Nagesh and Shanti Devi were placed under suspension in April after charges of corruption and nepotism were levelled against them.

Dilip Kumar Prasad, who had been a zoology reader in Ranchi University, was made the JPSC chairman in September 2004. Allegations of nepotism came to light in 2008 after the results of the civil services and the Jharkhantd eligibility test were published.

There were allegations that the former chairman and former members of the commission had appointed their relatives as civil servants, university teachers and officials.
