Villages form group to highlight woes

 The samiti was formed to fight with the government for the long pending issues in the region. The issues relate to the abysmally poor infrastructure, unemployment and the rising pollution.

 Chandravadan Pithawala has taken over as the president of the samiti. Pithawala hails from a well-known Surat business family, which has interests in engineering and real estate development in several European countries.
