Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Mahatma Gandhi’s Sewagram Ashram near Wardha on Tuesday left a few ‘sadhaks’ peeved as the Congress general secretary preferred to take the VVIP Guest Register with him promising to have it returned in a few days.

SBN Vishwaswara Rao, an ISO consultant and a sadhak, said that some government secretary would probably be asked to write a poetic tribute in the register before it is returned.

“I didn’t find any excitement on his face when he visited the ashram. He had a glass of milk and some fruits for the benefit of the cameras,” he said. Rao also said that he pointed out the Mahatma’s “seven social sins” listed on a board outside Bapu’s Kuti to Rahul. The first sin, according to Gandhiji was “politics without principles”.
