IndiaSkills, a joint venture between education and training services provider Manipal Education and City and Guilds, provider of work related assessment and qualification, launched its vocational training institute in Hyderabad.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, its chief executive officer Hari Menon said the institute would first offer spoken English courses along with need-based courses for retail and hospitality sectors. The courses would span up to six months.
He said the courses were designed with industry inputs to meet the specific job requirements. It also tied up with many retail and hospitality players for placing the students after the training. The fee for the programmes ranged from Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000. It was talking with microfinance institutions to provide the course fee as loan to the students.
It would shortly launch courses on hair and beauty, banking, financial services and insurance sector, he said adding that it would now offer entry level programme but later would provide training across the levels. The certificates were recognised by the industry in India, he said.
