Voting in the high-profile constituencies of Solapur and Madha in western Maharashtra today began on a slow but peaceful note.
Union Power minister Sushilkumar Shinde and Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar are in fray from Solapur and Madha respectively.
Till 1200 hrs, an average of 20% of voting was reported from both the constituencies.
At the both the places, the voters' turn out was very low in the morning but the voting picked up as the day progressed.
Up to 0090 hrs an average of 4.89% of voting was reported from Solapur while only an average of 6.3% excercised their franchise in newly-constituted Madha constituency, official sources said.
