VPT moots reduction in wharfage rates

 At present, the port collects Rs 72 wharfage charges per tonne of Styrena Monomer. The port plans to cut down these charges to Rs 60 per tonne.

 For other chemicals, it charges 0.44 per cent wharfage charges on the total value of the product (ad valorem), which is being sought to be reduced to Rs 45 per tonnes instead of ad valorem.
