Vsnl Bandwidth Rates Cut By 60%

Just two days ahead of inviting the financial bids for disinvesting 25 per cent stake in Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd, the government today slashed the rentals for international bandwidth lease lines by 60 per cent. VSNL also announced that the two-year-old dispute with international submarine cable provider FLAG has been resolved allowing the latter to directly sell bandwidth to Internet service providers (ISPs) in the country with immediate effect.

Announcing the new tariffs, Pramod Mahajan, minister of IT and communication said,
