Wall St down on fresh eco worries; ADRs drop

The Wall Street tumbled on Thursday on profit taking triggered by disappointing retail sales and a widening trade deficit, which, aroused worries about the economy.

The Dow Jones industrial average slumped 148 points to 13,215. The Nasdaq dropped 43 points to 2534.

Indian ADRs ended in red across-the-board. MTNL plunged 4% to $7.11. Wipro, Patni Computers, Tata Motors and Dr.Reddy's dropped around 3% each to $16.24, $24.75, $17.33 and $16.59, respectively. Infosys, Satyam, HDFC Bank and VSNL also ended in red.
