Wall St ends subdued; ADRs mixed

The US indices ended on a subued note on hopes of a rate-cut faded following data suggesting strength in job data. The Dow Jones industrial average was down 11 points to 13,475. The Nasdaq slipped eight points to 2539.

Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. Patni Computers soared 3.5% to $25.76. HDFC Bank and VSNL rallied 1.5% each to $77.35 and $22.40, respectively. On the other hand, Satyam and ICICI Bank were down 1% each at $24.28 and $47.19, respectively.
