Wall St extend gains; ADRs rally

A big jump in consumer confidence index eased investor concerns about the effect of slowing economic growth on corporate profits. The Dow Jones industrial average rallied 94 points to 11,669. The Nasdaq surged 12 points to 2261.

Indian ADRs also extended gains. ICICI Bank advanced 3% to $29.65, HDFC Bank added 2.8% to $59.42. Satyam, Wipro, VSNL and Tata Motors were up 1-2% each.
