Wall St flat; Indian ADRs mixed

Disappointing earnings coupled with high inflation fears saw the major indices in US end slightly lower. The Dow Jones industrial average slipped 34 points to 11,186. The Nasdaq was down three points at 2091.

The Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. Patni Computers zoomed over 7% to $13.25. HDFC Bank advanced 1.4% to $54.15, and Wipro was up 0.8% at $12.47. VSNL plunged over 5% to $15.63. MTNL dropped 2.4% to $6.22. Infosys and Tata Motors slipped around 1% each to $41.09 and $15.78, respectively.

The crude oil futures for September delivery surged $1.16 to settle at $74.40 per barrel on the NYMEX.
