Wall St slips; ADRs drop; Oil plunges

The US stocks slipped on Tuesday owing to profit warning from Yahoo and a military coup in Thailand. The Dow Jones industrial average was down 14 points at 11,541. The Nasdaq slipped 13 points to 2222.

Indian ADRs ended with significant losses. VSNL tumbled 5.5% to $16.79, and Tata Motors dropped 4% to $17.93. HDFC Bank slipped over 3% to $58.17. Infosys, Wipro, ICICI Bank and MTNL were down 1-2% each.

On the other hand, Satyam surged almost 4% to $39.55, and Patni Computers spurted over 1% to $19.31.

The crude oil futures for October delivery shed 3.4% or $2.14 to settle at $61.66 per barrel on the NYMEX.
